Creative City Meetup: SOLD OUT
This event is now sold out. Thanks to everyone for such an enthusiastic response. You can still register for the waitlist using the 'Book Now' button. And if you'd like notice of future meetups, subscribe to our monthly newsletter.
Creative City Meetups are a chance for us all to come together, make connections, and spark ideas. And by ‘us all’, we mean anyone who is part of making creativity happen. We’re talking arts, tourism, creative industries, culture, heritage, games, and film.
Those working in the creative sector are often under paid and under pressure. Bringing people together to share ideas, talk through problems, and realise they aren’t alone can only be a good thing, especially in challenging times.
We hear this after thrive events too. People feel that they don’t have the chance to collaborate and connect with others. Especially those outside their own art form.
Each meetup will feature a guest speaker – someone to inspire, challenge, and maybe even entertain us. You’ll then have a chance to grab a drink, a snack, and a chat.
We want to keep things positive and see people leave with new connections and creative ideas.
Our first meetup will kick off on Friday 22nd February with guest speaker Phil Batty from Hull City of Culture 2017.
Phil will talk honestly about how the power of positivity helped transform Hull from ‘the worst town in the UK’, to a model of cultural regeneration and celebration.
There'll be coffee, tea, and sweet treats on arrival, and then it's down to the bar for anyone who has the Friday feeling and wants to keep chatting.
